Along with representatives of various Austrian architecture offices, platou chose a fine selection of 49 good, qualitative examples of architecture in tourism. In the next section, the number of samples proportionally represents the number of total realized projects in that specific region in Austria. The samples are grouped into seven categories, which are: lodging, food & beverage, museums, venues, spas, public production sites, experiences in nature. The samples taken from the different categories proportionally represent the total number of institutions in that region, too. The Austrian region Vorarlberg has exceptionally numerous significant examples of good architecture in tourism. Besides that, it is the only region in Austria that actively makes use of tourism architecture as a subject in advertising campaigns.
